London-based industrial designer Philippe Malouin unveils the new Chop collection for Hem, marking its first-ever outdoor dining furniture range. The capsule highlights the premium design and does so through modern silhouettes that are prepared to withstand all seasons. The tables and stackable chairs are sturdy and the namesake nods to Chop Saw, which is a gallery concept that Malouin had previously explored.
Malouin shares the inspiration behind the furniture, stating that A small part of my work as a designer is in the art world where I do a lot of experimentation. For inspiration for this collection, I looked to my works for Salon 94 in New York, which used a number of industrial techniques like welding, bending, and coating to create brutal yet elegant constructions."
