Jolly Jellyfish Seating

Chobotnica Chair Has More Legs Than It Needs, Affording Playful Support

You have certainly seen perfectly effective seats with just three legs, so it is quite the unusual sight to observe the Chobotnica Chair. The creators of this quirky item were not concerned with meeting bare-minimum compositional criteria; instead, they hoped to produce an object that would utterly delight its user.

Katarína Beličková of MEJD elaborated upon the archetypal bentwood style of dining chair. The inner loop of the backrest was swapped out for a pair of circles and the support structure beneath was multiplied. More than a dozen legs lift the circular seat from the floor; however, the great number of posts may not give the viewer any comfort. The Chobotnica Chair's beech wood limbs are wavy, making the octopus-resembling furnishing look like it is on the verge of collapse.
