German manufacturer Cherry introduces its latest mechanical keyboard switch with the new MX Ergo Clear keyboard that is made with inspiration from 2011. It honors the DIY mod that was posted in a GeekHack forum just over a decade ago.
It was a community-made design that is known to be 'frankenswitch' where users were able to mix different components to create new interesting typing feels. In a recent press release of the upcoming product, the keyboard is described as a design that uses "high-performance grease" to lubricate the official version in place of the PTEE lubricant used in the original mod. Notably, it also inherits the tactile bump of the original MX Clear that also is supported with a lighter spring for fast pressing.
