The Chair of Restriction Glamorizes the Concept of Constraint

The Chair of Restriction marks one of the rare designs for seating objects that does not put human comfort first. It will hardly take you a split second to realize this fact, coupled perhaps with a reaction of shock.

Yes, this double chair is actually a cage, capable of containing a single person and holding her nearly motionless in a seated position, surrounded in bars that form a backrest, a base and a chest restraint. Chains and a lock on the hinged contraption increase the incarcerating nature of this piece of furniture.

But the odd kamkam object is not really intended for cruel use. Jaekyoung Kim and Miyoung Kim painted it a lovely pink color and assert that it's more of an artistic sculpture that comments on the human condition.
