Considering the public's obsession with celebrity yoga, it was only a matter of time before 'Bey-Asana' was created.
This unique fitness class runs at Yoga Eado in downtown Houston, combining yoga with a love of Beyonce songs. Since yoga can be such a serious practice, the studio sought to make it a more fun experience by setting the class to both fast and slow-paced songs from the pop star. When the classes were first trialed in the spring, they immediately sold out with more than 90 people in attendance.
In this same theme, Brooklyn's Y7 Studio hosts classes that are set to the tune of tracks by Drake and Jay-Z, while the Village Healing Centre in Toronto's 'YogaBiebs' classes are geared towards Justin Bieber fans. By using familiar songs, yoga studios are making the activity seem much less intimidating to try.
