Upcycled Subway Card Decks

These Card Decks are Made Using Recycled Metro Passes

For those who wonder where old subway passes go after they've served their use, Brooklyn Etsy shop owner Norman has been collecting and turning them into quirky playing card decks.

Made using New York Metrocard passes, Norman has taken the time to collect several hundred subway cards to convert them into full decks. How the design works is the yellow side with 'Metrocard' printed all over it is left as the facing-up side. The opposite side that includes the card's expiry information, pricing, rules and regulations is the side onto which the traditional playing card designs are printed onto. Users can still see the subway card information through the playing card print, which creates an interesting layered texture. Though these card decks are artistically creative, they aren't cheap and they each sell for $550.
