Obese airplane passengers now have the right to a second seat, free, in Canada.
The new rule was passed yesterday which states that individuals handicapped by obesity are entitled to airplane seats for the price of one.
This incredibly controversial news will no doubt raise blood pressures, particularly among really tall passengers, or others who find typical airline space to be very restrictive.
We've explored this issue before, including in an article which discussed the possibility of issuing a tax to penalize heavier travels.
It will be interesting to see how other national airlines will react, and if any will follow suit.
