The studio restores the existing house's character, which was previously compromised in the 70s due to a series of renovations that took place.
The updates connect the internal spaces using new openings and windows to push for an open design, blending new elements seamlessly whilst retaining the original fabric. The team at Byró Architekti explains, "Our main goal was to rediscover the house's memory and original layers, which were actually quite rare, and seamlessly blend them with new layers to create a cohesive whole. We aimed to blur the boundary between the old and the new rather than highlighting it."
