Convertible Vacuum Brooms

The Philips Broom Vacuum Converts for Different Movement Needs

The broom and the vacuum have remained separate cleaning products until now with the unveiling of the Philips Broom Vacuum. A student project, the vacuum broom features an ergonomic design aesthetic that enables the device to shift in orientation and direction in order to satisfy differing cleaning needs.

The vacuum broom can be used in broom mode to sweep floors as debris is vacuumed up, while the design can also be shifted to traditional vacuum mode to clean as a regular vacuum would.

The Philips Broom Vacuum is the design work of Lorenz Bauer, Priska van Binsbergen, Tine Hoogterp, Renate Hulst, Debbie Rouw and Karthik Mahadevan. It was created in partnership between TU Delft and Philips as a means to offer students a chance to exercise their design prowess for a mainstream brand.
