The Madeira Terrace in Brighton is in danger of falling into disrepair, but thanks to the efforts of a crowdfunded campaign and Brighton Bier, the iconic terrace may have a second chance at life. The local brewery recently launched its new beer, called Mabiera, and will be donating 25% of the profits made from the beer to the Madeira Terrace Restoration Fund. The Mabiera brew is a 4% ABV hop-forward pale ale and is described on the company's website as having "subtle nods to the challenge of restoring and modernising the areas surrounding Madeira Terrace."
Brighton Bier was founded in the city its name bears and as such, the company does have a fondness for the iconic Madeira Terrace. The company has expressed the need for its expansion, looking to further its beer production and wanting to expand to include a bar, restaurant, beer garden, visitor center and shop to its new possible location. While the company has not expressed and formal public interest in using a space by the Madeira Terrace, it would seem as though it has poised itself to do so.
