The main intention behind architecture studio Lucas y Hernández-Gill's bright cafe interior is to "attract the attention of people in the street." The establishment does so by way of its play with colors, its voluminous counter arrangements and the strong linear embellishments. The project is done for the Juana Limón coffee shop and bakery in Madrid.
For the main palette of the bright cafe's interior, Lucas y Hernández-Gill makes references to the hues associated with "the world of bakeries and patisseries." Hence, the pale yellow does not only evoke the color of lemon tarts but also that of typical pastry ingredients like butter and flour. The floor tiles, on the other hand, are made to reference bread dough.
