This summer, Orlando, Florida is getting a canine-friendly pub called Boozehounds Dog Bar. With amenities for both pups and their owners, the bar brings together the best of both worlds.
Boozehounds Dog Bar is an off-leash dog park that doubles as a bar. Pooches can enjoy running around the fenced-in outdoor space, while owners can sip on cocktails inside a series of repurposed shipping containers among their friends. The idea was developed by Paul Jaszczenski and Lainie Pekich who found there were no places that catered to both dogs and their owners—it was always one or the other. As Pekich explains, whenever they took their German Shepherd puppy to a restaurant, "[she] wasn't happy stuck under a table," but "when we took her to a dog park, Paul and I were bored, sweaty, and in need of a cocktail."
After two years of planning, Boozehounds Dog Bar is set to open in the summer of 2019.
