Cyclist-Focused Concept Cars

The BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor Was Built with Bikers in Mind

The BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor is the ideal car for those who fancy themselves one with nature and bicycles. The hybrid recently made its official debut at the 2013 OutDoor Friedrichshafen (a fair) in Germany. On the outside, the Concept Active Tourer Outdoor looks like a typical BMW, but the inside is where it earns its "active" name.

The BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor was designed with an eye towards cyclists, with a cargo area specially built to hold bikes. Built-in racks can hold up to two frames and front wheels, with the seats and other parts going in a purpose-built compartment underneath. Performance-wise, the concept can hit a top speed of 124 mph and do 0-62 in under eight seconds. On the eco-front, the hybrid's electric engine is good for 19 miles and it gets 95 MPG.
