Japanese convenience store chain FamilyMart has announced the introduction of the Blue Green meal range that aims to satisfy increasing demand for plant-based fare. The meal range includes the Keema Curry, Bibimbap-Style Rice Ball, Financier and the Mont Blanc, which are each crafted with meat and dairy-free recipes, depending on the variety. The products respond to the burgeoning plant-based market in Japan, which is expected to grow significantly in the years ahead.
Fumihiro Hayashida from the FamilyMart Product Planning Department spoke on the new plant-based products saying, "The Blue Green Project, which aims to expand food options, is still only halfway through. We will take our customers’ opinions and requests seriously and strive to provide even better products. Whether you have dietary restrictions or not, whether you are interested in plant-based foods or not, everyone can eat the same thing and smile in the same way, so please give FamilyMart’s Blue Green a try."
