Crooked Cosmetic Captures

Pilar Castro Evensen's Black/Asymmetric Series is Subtly Sinister

There is a subtle, sinister feel to the Black/Asymmetric photo series that is derived from what appears to be a 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' shoot that is almost reminiscent of the Batman villain known as Two-Face. Centered around some rather crooked cosmetic looks, model Ju Romano appears to be showing both side of her dual personality at once.

Shot by Chile-based beauty and fashion photographer Pilar Castro Evensen, the Black/Asymmetric photo series is full of depth and emotion, which is in large part due to the fantastic work of makeup artist and hairstylist Margarita Nilo. Although the looks she created aren't too extreme, they enable Ju Romano to truly channel her inner conflict beautifully. The painted arms were a particular great touch, giving them a life of their own.
