Bla Station, a Swedish furniture and homeware brand, recently launched a new collection that showcases the unlikely beauty of plywood. Dubbed the Plybord collection, Bla Station designed three versatile seating options that show off the material's unique grain.
One of the pieces is dyed with a blue pigment to allow the grain to stand out, while others are left untreated. The Plybord collection was designed by Johan Lindau, Bla Station's CEO, and design manager. The featured pieces are made without any internal support structures. Lindau explains: "I experimented with different kinds of miter and joint... everything is possible with good craftsmanship." Additionally, the minimalist pieces boast a light wooden color due to their plywood origin.
