Swiss watchmaker Hublot recently announced that it is cashing in on the cryptocurrency craze by releasing a Bitcoin watch. Launched as a special edition of its Big Bang watch, this timepiece separates itself from other watches by only being purchasable with Bitcoin. The Bitcoin watch is being released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the cryptocurrency along with Hublot's recent partnership with digital asset brokerage OS Limited. Only 210 versions of the watch will be made, with this number stemming from the fact that only 21 million Bitcoins can ever be mined.
According to Hublot, the timepiece will feature the Big Bang series' iconic design, while also bolstered by aesthetics inspired by cryptocurrency. OS Limited will serve as the official broker of the watch and will process all the order data. The timepiece will also come with a unique serial number that is the number of the transaction on the blockchain used to buy the item.
