Set to roll out to 15 million customers in the United Kingdom, the HSBC Voice ID system will enable telephone banking to be accessed via voice identification rather than passwords. This will enable users to do away with security questions, dates or even proper passwords.
The HSBC Voice ID system is a type of biometric verification that's being powered by Nuanace, which uses over 100 identifiers from a person's voice to ensure they're authorized for access.
Explaining the HSBC Voice ID system, head of retail banking and wealth management Francesca McDonagh said, "The launch of voice and touch ID makes it even quicker and easier for customers to access their bank account, using the most secure form of password technology -- the body."
