You may think you are living a sci-fi novel at the thought of your bangin' leather bomber being grown from bacteria, but the Suzanne Lee Biocouture line is bringing you exactly that.

The fashion designer from London is on a mission to create home-grown textiles and the process isn't too difficult either. Using green tea, sugar, microbes and time, Lee is able to produce wearable funky pieces. She's added a biodegradable jeans jacket and "leather" bomber to her collection. She is pushing the boundaries of fashion and jumping out of comfort levels with her Biocouture line. While it may seem a bit icky to have this type of clothing, this breakthrough line holds appeal to eco-penchant types, because you only have to grow as much as you need and everything is quickly biodegradable.

On the downside, Lee is still in the process of making the clothing water-resistant. Currently if gets wet in the rain, you'll be left naked as the seams fall apart. Suzanne Lee isn't giving up though. The future holds a place where one can bio-engineer the bacteria to produce the qualities, like hydrophobia, that wearers need.
