With his new collection, celebrated Dutch architect Ben van Berkel seeks out to "encourage play" without neglecting the importance of manners. The capsule consists of a children's chair and tableware. The products have been released under Italian brand Alessi.
The capsule is inspired by Ben van Berkel's interaction with his five-year-old son. Through the functional and aesthetically pleasing products, the architect "signals to children that they are equals within the family, a position that comes with some responsibilities—like civilized table manners."
The tableware is made out of melamine and bamboo, featuring a set of bowls, plates, and cups that are also shatterproof. Ben van Berkel also creates "a set of silverware made from polished steel that looks exactly like adult silverware, but it’s scaled down." All products in the collection are designed with the child in mind
