Ben Ainslie is a sailor with a strong vested interest in the climate; so strong in fact that he is moving his Ben Ainslie Racing team into brand-new headquarters that will generate their own power and be a role model for clean energy building.
The building, situated on the Camber in Portsmouth, UK and designed by HGP Architects, will be home to the Ben Ainslie Racing team during its preparation for the 35th America's Cup in 2017. The project is being undertaken on a tight schedule, as it was conceptualized as recently as December 2013.
The building is being constructed in partnership with renewables investment firm Low Carbon, and will be awarded BREEAM Excellent status, a mark of ultra-sustainable design, construction and operation.
