The original CR-78 rhythm machine was released by the Roland Corporation back in 1978, and was the first of its kind to introduce microprocessors into the technology. Similar to the step programming method of their other legendary product, the TR-808, the CR-78 produced electronic groove patterns mimicking many genres of the time with distinct analog drum sounds.
