The BeetBox Plays a Drum Beat Through Real Beets

Take the art of making music through beat boxing to its literal homophone translation and you get the concept behind BeetBox by Scott Garner of Scott Made This.

That means that this creation is actually a wooden box with beets sticking out of it and people can use it to make a beat when they touch the beets. While it may sound confusing, the concept is actually fairly simple in its ingenious way. "Powered by a Raspberry Pi with a capacitive touch sensor and an audio amplifier," as Scott explains, when people tap the vegetables, the box emits different drum beat sounds that can be made into a musical rhythm.

For a new way to play some beats, give the awesomely interesting BeetBox a try.
