A Korean company by the name of Daesung has invented a high-tech beekeeping device that is designed to assist beeking operations through the wonders of robotic and smart technology.
Dubbed the Hive Controller, the device is designed to be placed on top of a hive before it is plugged in, at which point it lifts up honeycombs and hangs them on robotic arms. As the honeycombs are removed from the device, a series of brushes gently remove bees from the honeycombs without hurting them. Once the honeycombs are safely extracted, the Hive Controller sends a notification to the beekeeper so they can proceed with next steps to extract honey from the honeycombs.
Currently the subject of a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, the Hive Controller is a fine example of how robotic technology can aid a variety of industrial and recreational agricultural activities.
