A few weeks ago Trend Hunter featured a sofa that appeared to change shape depending on your angle. Now Zaha Hadid has designed this moon sofa for positioning in the center of a room. Its continuous shape appears to change as you observe it from different points in the room. It has all the complexity of the block geometric design for which Zaha Hadid is well known. The furniture was introduced by B&B Italia at London Design Week in September.
Zaha Hadid is the first woman recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the 2004 Laureate. The Pritzker Architecture Prize was established by The Hyatt Foundation in 1979 to honor annually a living architect whose built work demonstrates a combination of those qualities of talent, vision, and commitment, which has produced consistent and significant contributions to humanity and the built environment through the art of architecture. It has often been described as “architecture's most prestigious award†or as “the Nobel of architecture.â€
