Marco Carini Builds Two Seating Designs for Bathroom Brand Agape
Marco Carini was tasked with creating two striking bathroom seating designs for Agape, the Italian brand known for its ultra-stylish bathroom collections. The designer focused on creating versatile, minimalist, yet eye-catching silhouettes. He used recycled cork to build the contemporary bathroom seating. The first silhouette is a lightweight stool called Vis-à-vis. Because of its form, the piece can also double as a side table. The second design, named the Rendez-vous bench, "provides extended seating" that allows individuals to stretch out if necessary. While the former is made with heat-treated cork, the latter boasts a hand-woven cork rope construction that wraps around recycled aluminum tubing. Marco Carini and Agape sourced the cork from the material that is discarded during the production of wine bottle stoppers—yet another example of how industries can collaborate to minimize waste.
