In his latest installment of 'Man-at-Arms,' weapons and props creator to the stars Tony Stratton demonstrates how he makes a Batarang. Having worked on props for three of the Batman movies, he definitely knows what he's doing.
Showing us the exact process by which he creates the weapons, from cutting out an outline to transferring it onto steal, he has little worry about others trying to actually make these dangerous weapons at home. Stratton uses highly specialized machines such as a pneumatic belt sander and a plasma cutter that most people don't have access to. Nevertheless, it is still interesting to watch how such a blade is made.
Modeled after Japanese throwing stars, the Batarang has beveled edges, which means it will slice through and stick into any object it hits.
