Italy-based mobility company Reinova attracted plenty of attention when it announced the impending arrival of an elegant and high-performance electric folding scooter, with the company having made good on its promise with the launch of the vehicle, which is dubbed the 'Tom.'
This particular folding scooter stands out visually due to the liberal utilization of bamboo, with plastic comprising less than 10 percent of the construction. As far as performance is concerned, the 'Tom' folding scooter promises a top speed of 43 km/h by virtue of its 500-watt rear hub motor, which benefits from a 750-Wh lithium battery for a setup that provides a range of up to 50 km. The scooter is also exceptionally easy to take on public transport due to the fact that it only takes 7 seconds to fold it up.
Currently the subject of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, the 'Tom' folding scooter can be reserved for a pledge of around $2,000.
