Ziad Ghanem’s Jurassic corsets and bald models with tattoos are proof that the Lebanese designer will not be held back by convention. Much of his work is surreal, a blend of 1940s and ‘50s style on steroids with a good dose of zombie space alien mixed in.
The fall retail collection is defiant couture, largely androgynous shown off with truly theatrical panache. Ghanem uses bald models and models with exaggerated retro hair that draws influence from coifs of the McCarthy era and themed tresses never intended in the natural world.
