Blade-Thin Furniture

The Baguettes Chair is Super-Minimal and Extremely Light

The Baguettes chair boasts something very few pieces of furniture can, and that happens to be a blade-thin design. Considering that there is always a new seating option being presented at one design show or another, it's interesting to see a designer introduce something so interestingly innovative.

In this case, it happened to be two designers. The Baguettes chair was created by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for the Italian furniture manufacturer MAGIS.

Although we have seen very minimal furniture designs before, the Bouroullecs wanted to take the Baguettes chair a step further in terms of slimness and weight. Made out of plywood, each Baguettes chair was injected with aluminum for extra support. It is available in both natural and stained ash.
