For its latest project Studio Roselyn, tapped into Middle Eastern dinner architecture and the over-saturated nuances in bad food photographs. The Vancouver design duo brought life with a quirky twist to a new casual Lebanese restaurant in Victoria, Canada.
Superbaba is a pita bread shop and its interior embraces authentic Middle Eastern designs and blends them with contemporary composition. The splashes of color—pale pink, blue and muted green—add an upbeat personality, while the neon lighting contributes to a dream-like dinner ambiance. The menu, as well as the wall decor, is filled with bad food photography turned good. On a tight budget, Studio Roselyn has artistically altered the images of Superbaba's food through distortion and collage techniques. The result ties in beautifully with the neon-lit interior.
