The Klepper Backyak is an innovative kayak-sailboat-sled hybrid that can easily be carried around on your back like a backpack. It was one of the highlights of the Boot Dusseldorf show.
The Backyak, which boasts a lightweight carbon construction is one of the few Klepper offerings that doesn't fold. Rather, the six-segment vessel can be broken down into two separate 22-pound drum-shaped backpacks that can be carried by two people using the attachable harnesses. This makes it easier to get the contraption to the water.
One of the most innovative features of the Klepper Backyak is the fact that it offers special configurations such as the 'Relax' configuration that is designed to help you paddle, float and sunbathe on the water and a 'Sail' configuration suited towards cataraman-style sailing.
