Home-Reminiscing Spring Fashion

Song for the Mute's Avenue D’Ivry Capsule Prepares for SS22

Australian fashion label Song for the Mute introduces its new collection for the Spring/Summer 2022 season with the Avenue D’Ivry capsule. The new range celebrates influences from the past, infusing contemporary wearables with feelings of nostalgia. Lyna Ty, one of the founders of the brand, nods to her childhood home.

The capsule reflects on her Parisian home, capturing the moments of her life in the past and the details including the hallways and elevators that she frequented. She grew up in Paris during the 80s and 90s, on a block known by locals as 'Tour Tokyo.' Over time, the location became home to many Southeast Asian families, then earning the name 'Le Quartier Asiatique.' The designs capsule the communal feeling, Ty talks about the influence. "Those fleeting moments spent within a confined space with a total stranger, where the seconds and minutes spent between floors can feel like a lifetime. I also wanted to capture those moments where we find ourselves alone, doing odd things when we think no one is watching."
