Spirits company Avallen is introducing a paper bottle made from 94% recycled paperboard with a food-grade pouch. This bottle boasts less than a fifth of the CO2 emissions of a standard glass bottle and weighs just 85 grams and lower transportation emissions.
Avallen’s co-founder Tim Etherington-Judge says, "Packaging is an area where there is room for improved environmental performance. Spirits have almost always come in single-use glass bottles, with large embodied carbon emissions, as well as the raw material extraction of sand." With this paper bottle, consumers will be able to enjoy a beautifully branded bottle that's durable and ready to enjoy during outdoor events. Additionally, the bottle is an ideal ecommerce solution, especially when handled by delivery couriers.
