Robotically Automated Kitchens

This Automated Kitchen Features a Seasoned Robotic Chef

UK-based Moley Robotics has created a fully stocked Automated Kitchen complete with a robotic chef, which is claimed can cook as well as a seasoned human chef. The Automated Kitchen was unveiled at the Hanover Messe industrial products trade show in Germany.

The robotic chef itself was designed by the Shadow Robot Company, which is better known for making products for the space and nuclear industries. It consists of a set of fully articulated hands. The robot uses 20 motors, 24 joints and 129 sensors to reproduce human movements.

At its current size and scale, the Automated Kitchen is unlikely to become widespread. However, it is likely to be scaled down for the consumer market, with retail versions being more compact and designed to augment human-run kitchens rather than replace them altogether.
