The Junction, a neighborhood in Toronto, received an artful addition in the form of an augmented reality mural that was designed to celebrate summer. Located at 2853 Dundas Street West, the interactive mural invites community members to pose for selfies in front of the retro pop art. The augmented reality mural was developed through a creative partnership between local artists Jasmin Pannu and Jeca Martinez and the ARTivive AR app.
The augmented reality mural denotes the start of CaféTO, a program that expands patio dining. The Junction will be populated by 52 patios that will host additional space and offer engaging activities. Additionally, pop-up art installations and socially distanced outdoor spaces will be peppered throughout the community. Both the CaféTO program and the augmented reality mural will artfully reflect the Junction's creative character.
