This Audi billboard does an excellent job at marketing the car company's new adaptive headlights, attracting people's attention as well as keeping pedestrians safe.
Installed in Brussels is a large billboard over top of a main intersection. The billboard has LED "headlights" installed on either side that detects pedestrians and bikers, spotlighting them as they cross the street. Pedestrians are known to be less safe from cars at night, so this billboard detects them the same way the new Audi adaptive headlights do in real life.
When a pedestrian is detected a short distance from a car, the LED lights flash three times to alert the pedestrian. In addition, the lights prevent people from getting blinded by much-hated high beams by casting a cone of shadow around the incoming car or person, while still lighting up the rest of the landscape for the driver.
