Auberge du Soleil Packaging Incorporates a Paper Spring

One of the purposes of wrapping products is to establish a ceremonious reveal for the consumer, and Auberge du Soleil packaging achieves this in a rather clever way. Instead of employing layers and layers of tissue and paper, this scrumptious solution by Evelio Mattos embodies the character of a quirky object in its own right.

John Turner rendered the three dimensional images of this amusing Jack-in-the-box branding concept, which demonstrates the incredible attention paid to the often under-explored item. Fan-folded cardboard rises around and above the four truffles, presenting inch-wide cutouts over each piece of chocolate. Once the logo-printed lid has been removed from Auberge du Soleil packaging, the peckish unwrapper can squeeze down the accordion casing to expose the delicious treats within.
