An Architect Couple Designs the Unique Atwater House

Co-founder of the firm Design, Bitches works together with her architect husband to create the Atwater House, which is the latest version of their family home in California. It is defined by its flow of sunlight and the unique feeling of being in the trees as it is nestled in the lush forest.

The house is home to Rebecca Rudolph and Colin Thompson, who purchased the home when it was rundown and it has since gone through various renovations and additions. The layout plan is formed across the rectangular base and the new structure was made to create a "fluid arrangement of spaces, where the inside and outside zones are given equal importance and are designed with change in mind." The team explains that "The result is a house that encourages abundant natural light and a feeling of being in the trees."
