Realistic Melting Ceramics

Artist Livia Marin Has Created a Series Of Melting Porcelain Pieces

Artist Livia Marin, whose famous work includes the ants on ceramic pots, has taken a new approach for jazzing up her ceramics.

Like Salvador Dali's melting clocks, Marin has manipulated classic porcelain pieces to look as if they are liquefied by heat. Her series, known as 'Broken Things,' depicts precious porcelain that looks like the result of being left in the sun for too long.

The pool of melted ceramic carry the same images as when the ceramics were intact, which is so realistic looking that it makes you wonder if ceramic can really melt in the sun. Rest assured, ceramic cannot melt in the sun.
