Local design studio NCDA created the interiors of the Artifact bar, which is a subterranean speakeasy found in downtown Hong Kong. It is meant to reflect the underground water reservoirs and the lighting in the space is responsible by LightOrigin Studio to bring attention to the ethereal ambiance. It is found in the basement in BaseHall 02 and the interior means to work with the restricted ceiling and lack of natural light.
One of the main details is the glowing disc over the bar which reflects an artificial sunset. LightOrigin Studio shares, "The ideology of the paradoxical presence of sunlight in an underground space, juxtaposed with the dimly lit surroundings, imparts a sense of surrealism. By fusing architectural mastery and creative lighting design, the bar offers an extraordinary and ethereal experience."
