In an effort to make art more accessible and to make a name for himself, the artist Ro-Nalt Schrauwen is putting his art in old cigarette vending machines.
19 of these art-filled vending machines are scattered throughout the Netherlands and can be accessed by the public for a small fee. Those interested can get their hands on a piece of pocket-sized art the same way they would purchase a pack of cigarettes: by inserting a coin and turning a dial. The art pieces range from illustrations of whimsical creatures to gorgeous renderings of the landscape.
This initiative helps put art in the hands of those who enjoy it, but may not be able to afford a larger piece.
