Designed by studioINTEGRATE, an international architectural studio in London, the Flux Table is inspired by Toranj -- a mathematical pattern used in ancient Iranian architecture that appears as a radial effect in a rhomboid contour. The geometric shape is built using contemporary digital fabrication technologies that creates a polyurethane coated dense foam table.
According to studioINTEGRATE, from the departure point of this intricate pattern smoothly transitions into a three dimensional geometry with the the legs located at the convergence points of the base pattern. With its printed patterns, the glass top reflects the geometry of the continuous form.
This product came as a result of exploring ways to fuse Islamic art with contemporary modes of computation. Even though it has a gothic look to it, I am sure that this modern take on ancient architecture will bring a contemporary look to every room.
