With the increasing awareness of brutal sexual assaults in India, three engineering students at Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University, have created an anti-rape underwear garment that hopes to prevent such crimes. The anti-rape underwear is designed to disable the attacker with a powerful jolt of electricity while simultaneously alerting cops to the location of the crime by way of a GPS tracker and text message.
Taking the form of a thin tanktop, the anti-rape underwear addresses the fact that most attacks against women begin with the assailant grabbing the woman around the neck and chest. Such violent pressure triggers a sensor that initiate 3,800kV pulses through wires embedded in the bust area. Women will just have to be careful when embracing people they know.
