Anima Ona Repurposed Scrap Gravestones for Decorative Tables

Anima Ona designed sculptural side tables out of repurposed scrap gravestones. The sculptural objects are part of the Teile series. The German-Spanish studio is exhibiting the designs at the Supersalone fair during Milan design week.

The Teile series includes five repurposed sculptural pieces. The designer obtained the gravestone scraps used in the collection from a German manufacturer. Stone blocks from all around the world are acquired by the manufacturer, who then transforms them into honorable gravestones. Anima Ona transforms the offcuts into conceptual furniture. Negative space is carved into the interior of the scraps, creating unique patterns. Two of the featured sculptures are made from limestone. Another is made from travertine, while the others are made from green-tinged Alpengrum marble and Silbergrau stone.
