It's hard to get anything done when you're not "in the zone," and happily, this abstract idea of focus and concentration is channeled into a project called Anemone for Coalescence. Interestingly, designer Alfredo Ruiz began with just a simple floor lamp which gradually grew to assume a complete workspace.
One can picture rows of these comfy carrels in contemporary libraries, affording sitters a substantial chair and a small desk, contrary to the conventional arrangement. A plushy single-seater couch is served with a cantilevered tray for the placement of a laptop, tablet or notebook, and fiber optic cables hang down from the large circular light fixture to create a privacy curtain. At the end of these illuminated cords are little clips for fastening printed notes and images, which can be easily viewed and accessed in the Anemone for Coalescence.
