I have always had trouble using crosshatch techniques effectively in my personal artwork, so to see Andreas Preis almost exclusively using crosshatching as a method for colorization and for defining value, all I can do is sit back with my mouth open and admire what I'm seeing.
Andreas Preis' primary muses are sultry pouty-lipped women, which he draws beautifully, but my favorite of his works is when he applies his unique style to comic book staples such as Green Lantern, Superman and Wonder Woman. The time and patience involved to craft artworks in this style is simply astounding. And to top it all off, many of Andreas Preis' pieces are named after my favorite Deftones songs. If I could virtually give someone a hi-five, I'd give one to this inspiring and innovative artist.
