'Amber' is an art project from Chaosteria, Lingxia Wang, and Jianqiang Li, which was created to start a dialogue surrounding the imminent dangers of excess plastic pollution, and how it will shape the future if the right steps are not taken.
The art piece shows a cube of plastic bottles that have been fused together, which surround a human subject in different poses. In each variation, the subject has no way to escape the plastic waste the encases them. This highlights the irreversible effects of plastic pollution, as well as the significance of human inaction.
The artists spoke to the inspiration behind the piece, stating "Amber is a tragedy even though it looks beautiful. [In] this sudden disaster, you don’t even have time to struggle. With the abuse and pollution of plastic products, you and I may all be wrapped in amber in the future." Photo Credits: designboom
