Gaming laptops are required to be heavy in specs and capability, but as Dell's new line of Alienware laptops -- released at CES 2015 -- showed, they can still be slim and lightweight as a physical package.
Both the Alienware 15 and Alienware 17 models have been slimmed down by a significant 20% without impacting the power of the systems. Each of these lightweight gaming behemoths can be configured with an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, and can run graphics cards up to Nvidia GTX 980M.
The new Alienware laptops are fully compatible with Dell's proprietary Graphics Amplifier, which allows users to plug full-sized desktop graphics processing units directly into their laptop.
The laptops are already available for purchase, with prices for the Alienware 15 and 17 starting at $1,200 and $1,500 respectively.
