Retail giant Aldi recently released a limited-edition Smart Fridge Magnet. It's essentially a shopping device for your kitchen that puts a virtual Aldi supermarket on the fridge.
The Aldi Smart Magnet connects directly to Wi-Fi, so consumers can start to browse and shop for products directly and exclusively from Aldi’s Tmall e-commerce channel. To check-out their shopping cart, consumers simply scan the QR code displayed on the magnet’s screen with Tmall or Taobao Apps to verify their order.
The Aldi Magnet case is available exclusively in a 'Dark Aldi Blue' color and houses an 1.54-inch touchscreen that is powered by an Android-based system.
The magnet comes fully loaded with two hours of shopping time before it will need to be recharged. Aldi is currently testing the magnet with several hundred consumers across China.
